As part of Atari's deal with Warner Communications, the first ever Pizza Time Theatre would be funded in 1977. This restaurant-arcade hybrid would later be rebranded to Chuck E. Cheese's. Warner also started introducing changes and brought in outside help to run Atari, including Ray Kassar who was brought in to help Atari's marketing, especially relating to the 2600. Bushnell didn't initially believe in the long-term success of the console, however following Kassar's marketing campaigns the 2600 ended up selling better than ever. The disagreements between Bushnell and Kassar ultimately led Warner to remove Bushnell as CEO in 1978, pointing to Kassar's success over his. Bushnell would buy the rights of Pizza Time Theatre before leaving and would end-up managing that business along with Joe Keenan, who also left Atari a few months later. Kassar would become the new CEO of Atari and would lead it through the next phase of it's life.
