95 - Side Trak
After playing the original Pong prototype made by Atari, Exidy founder Pete Kauffmann decided to leave his job at Ramtek and form his own company specializing in digital video games along with engineer Samuel Hawes. Despite starting small with few resources, Exidy would build a strong team under their brand, including hiring notable software engineer Howell Ivy. Despite great and unique game releases, Exidy struggled with logistics, physical space issues, and parts sourcing, which in addition to remaining a privately-owned company, prevented them from taking off in the same way companies like Atari had.
